MULTI -PROTOCOL
AVANAS is designed to work in an environment that comprises of Windows,
Linux/Unix, MacOS. It provides data access over protocols like NFS
(v2, v3, v4), CIFS/SMB, AppleTalk, FTP, HTTP
UNIFIED STORAGE
The
NAS as well as SAN can be combined together in to a single system
due to the support of file access protocols like NFS, CIFS, etc.
along with block access protocols like Fibre Channel, iSCSI. This
allows making an efficient use of the resources and gives higher
return on investments.
EASY MANAGEMENT
The centralized web-based management console provides an easy way
to configure and manage all aspects of the storage system.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE ASPECTS
AVANAS provides support for Data Preservation or WORM (Write Once
Read Many) feature that enables using the system in an environment
that needs to satisfy Compliance aspects. The data can be marked
to be retained till a certain specified period in a indelible (non-erasable,
nonwritable) format. Moreover, this can be done on a file level
and on a disk based file system without need of special purpose
hardware. |

DATA PROTECTION
AVANAS includes several data protection features like multiple RAID
levels (0, 1, 5, 6), Volume Snapshots, Remote Replication, Backup.
The system can be configured to schedule snapshots and backup to align
to the existing policies. This also helps in case of disaster recovery
or business continuity.
SECURITY
Security aspects are well handled by way of strong Authentication,
Access Control Lists (ACL) and Permission control. SMOOTH
INTEGRATION
Smooth integration in to the existing network environments is possible
due to ability to connect to NIS and Windows Active Directory.
HIGH CAPACITY
Supports multiple volumes, each with up to 16TB of storage capacity.
Logical Volume Manager allows expansion of existing volumes and file
systems, as needs grow.
SPACE MANAGEMENT
User and Group Quotas provide a way to effectively manage the disk
space that is being used by the users. Limits and thresholds can be
set for block as well as file usage with a good tracking and reporting.
